What a bloody fantastic weekend! Just to say before i get started, well done to all the first team who played their socks off this weekend. Also a special thank you to Scuttlebutt and Emma for letting us stay and Kat who sidelined every game.

So, after all the excitement of the new shorts on thursday, we left 110 only 30 minutes later than we said we would. Somehow, Jake's car managed to get lost on the way to the m25, only realising when we saw signs for Greenwich! Turning back round and eventually getting onto the m25, we stopped off to pick up Kat outside cockfosters, meet the other car and set off to Manchester. Once again jake managed to get lost (maybe my fault this time) and we set ourselves off up the A1 instead of the M1. Still, we were having fun and mosied on over to the M1, bumping into the other car having a chuckabout in Corley services. Eventually getting to Scutting's house, we relaxed at a festive house party, knowing that our first game wasn't till early afternoon the next day.

Getting to the venue, we all realised that this really wasn't an indoor tournament. For starters, the terrain was 3g rubber crumb, which for those that don't know hurts like a mother when you layout on it (ask shep's knee). Secondly, we were in a big tent that managed to remain colder than the outside temperature and thirdly, the pitches were about twice the normal size of an indoor pitch and managed to change shape every point (stupid arse system of ropes / long threads) Anywho, we set this aside, said hello to some old friends, put on the sexy new shorts and set ourselves a target of beating glasgow, our first game and top of div 2.

First Game (8-4 Loss) This was really a game of two halves. All credit to glasgow, they only had 5 people the entire weekend and these guys were flipping fast. We traded points until 4-4, putting in some generally good man defence and clinical O. Unfortunately, glasgow's speed won it out for them and they started to pull away at the end. A bit of a wake up call for us but we played some very good ultimate in this match.

Second Game (8-2 Loss) Second pool match of the day against Random Fling (who came 3/4 in div 2) They worked our zone very well in this game, knifing the sodding disc over the mids heads again and again. Also, they had a huge ginger dude that was bloody hard to beat in the air. However, a spirited match that should have been closer.

Third Game (7-6 Loss) Final pool game against Bangor who were a lovely bunch of people. Scutting showed up for this and we switched into white kit which we looked awesome in. We finally switched on to how we played in regionals for this game with some beautifully played O. The match was ridiculously intents (because we were in a tent) and if a couple of those 50 50 discs went our way, the win would have been ours. Extremely well spirited and these are the games that give me a reason to play ultimate.

So we were done for the day. All games had been fun, we had played well but none had fully gone our way. We stopped off at sainsbury's to get some pizza and junk food and went back to Scutting's house to watch x factor. After an epic game of cocksucker douchebag, it seemed everyone was far too tired to go out (and Tull didn't want to venture out alone in case he was stabbed) so we watched match of the day instead. First game of sunday wasn't till 1 so we just took it easy and had a relaxed night

Sunday we wanted to prove that KTT deserved to be there. Game was for 27-29 place so whoever won couldn't finish lower than 12th in div 2.

First game (I think 6-3 Loss) A serious mental blow for me this game as i came off absolutely furious, thinking back i'm not entirely sure why. Sheffield were a fearsome team to play, burning us on man and incredibly patient on D. We all wanted to win this game so much (and i even layed out) but unfortunately it was not to be. The better team prevailed and we were against our new rivals, Brunel for 29th place.

Second Game (12-0 WIN) Not entirely sure what the hell happened in this game. Whether it was that we were sick of losing, or we knew we had beaten Brunel before so could do it again. We were a transformed side. After initally scaring us by moving it through our zone so quickly on the first point, we adapted passive so that we completely squashed the mid down but encouraged the swing. This seemed to work brilliantly as time and time again Brunel just throw it away. Our O in this game was unstoppable. I think for the first 5 points or so we didn't turnover when we eventually got the disc. Absolutely awesome match with brilliant spirt and some hilarious calls after

So the lowest we could now come was 30. Final game of the weekend was against Glasgow again!

Third Game (7-4 Loss) I literally don't know how these guys kept on running all weekend. Still, they were absolute chumps when it came to the rules and the spirit at points got a little heated! An intense way to finish the weekend and we played some decent ultimate.

So, all in all 30th place. Highest Kent has ever done and we are all very proud of ourselves. MVP went to Tull for being absolutely brilliant all weekend (he had 3 massive layouts). Special mention for TB who missed out by 1 vote for MVP. Most improved went to Jake for his meteoric rise from regionals to nationals.

Quick run down of how everyone did

Big Love
Wanted to make up for missing regionals and used the energy he would of expelled in Hatfield to add to what he was doing in Manchester. Very good mid on passive with some excellent handling / mid play. Kept the entire team happy all weekend.

Mike
Experience of the team. Kept a calm head all the time he was on the pitch and wrecked his body for Kent. Pretty much unbroken as a long player, stopping anything that came his way.

Tull
Won MVP for a reason. Was as solid as i've ever seen him play and didn't just hang back to play handler, moving his way up the pitch and expelling energy into the mid section on D. Thorougly deserved MVP and is an absolute bonus to any team.

Sheps
Switched seamlessly between handler / mid on O and long / mid on D all weekend. Has ripped his knee to shreds whilst laying out but just showed the commitment he put in this weekend.

TB
Was always cutting when you needed him too, TB is a brilliant mid to have on your team. Always with a smile on his face (and a santa hat on the Saturday) TB was tireless on D, running like a fat kid chasing cake.

Hooch
Once again, a pleasure to play with this guy. Will play chase on consecutive points and then run his heart out on O. Had some absolutely beautiful layouts and flybys that scared the other teams shitless.

Luke
Had some very good assits and point scores on O, cutting constantly from the back to recycle the disc. On D, ran his socks off stopping the disc moving through the middle and when on force, bobbed around alot! Took what i taught him with coins before the Brunel match to intercept about 3/4 discs up the line.

Jake
Was positive all weekend, tireless on chase and constantly cutting on O. Massive voice on sideline, Jake always had his head in the game. Scored some excellent points and was absolute bastard to mark when it came to the wall.

Think thats everyone! Post up your personal highlights from the weekend, there were a lot.
YEAH KENT

Highlights

Jake's ability to not follow driving instructions
10 people sleeping in one room (very cosy)
Nearly breaking my ankle whilst celebrating a score against Bangor
The one layout i actually did
Point block on people from Bangor / Glasgow / Brunel
Inches away from a callahan against Bangor
Throwing an outside in scoober to hooch for a score
Bullet down the line to Mike for the final point against Brunel
Glasgow captain being a tool
Watching someone in Stirling try to take retribution for his team mate by starting his cut by pushing his marker over
YOU'RE A DICKHEAD shouted by a hallam player as he smacked into the floor, 'tripped' by the opposition
Luke on the drive home (not really sure what he was on)
Spirit and calls against Brunel (never has there been such a homoerotic game of Mingle)

Right, thats all i can think of now. Absolutely fantastic weekend and well done to everyone who went. Kent is now firmly on the ultimate radar, likes make sure we stay there for mixed!

Shocked at second for spirit, even further shocked that Sublime won it, as Halcyon looked much better than them. Also, we took runners-up in div 2 to 7-6, good times.

Highlights for me-

- Pitch length sidearm down the line with a hint of roll curve to Jake for the score against Glasgow.
- Layouts against Glasgow in the final game, got to love the adrenaline rush!
- Resisting the urge to do a McGee against Brunel, even though it was so on.
- The way we tailored our zone against Brunel.
- The utter destruction of Brunel
- Warwick and Halycon player almost getting in a fight over a foul call
- Everyone still hating Sublime, even at Nationals.
- Seeing No Frills' ISO in action, it's a thing of beauty.
- Luke in the car back, seriously man, what the hell.
- The white shorts.
- Getting the chance to see and play Ultimate at a very high level, I learnt so much from this weekend, hopefully can carry it over to the outdoor season.

Highlights

-the throne that was my cocksucker douchebag seat on saturday night.

-Harry potter in the cupboard

-being manhandled by sheps and mike on consecutive nights, thank god for the full body condom that was my sleeping bag

-Making sweet love to the Funk (with a capital F) so we could dance rediculously to austin powers

-Being able to play mid-endzone in a uni tournament

-mash's look of shock as an angry glaswegian shouts foul in his face after watching the disc into his hands for the past 5 seconds.

-the mystical mcfresh

Finally getting the opportunity to play indoors with such a beautiful team.

OUR TIME!
